Anhydro, based on its use of DRYTEC technology, has a solid, well established reputation in providing reliable, high quality and competitive solutions for flash and ring Dryer applications.
DRYTEC flash and ring dryers are ideal for drying filter cakes, fibrous materials, sludges and slurries, and have gained renown through their use in the ethanol, food, dairy, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The unique qualities and advantages of these flash and ring dryers places DRYTEC at the front of equipment suppliers in this market. Features such as simple, economic design, high uptime, short residence time and ease of maintenance, underscore DRYTEC’s attention to detail in meeting the needs of both the client and the industrial marketplace.
Flash dryers are typically preferred in the production of fine granular or powdered material when short residence times are required. A stream of turbulent hot air dries the product while it flows co-currently in a continuous process. Rapid evaporation cools the inlet air, thus minimizing exposure time for heat-sensitive materials.
Ring dryers are flash-type dryers which incorporate a centrifugal classifier to increase residence time selectively for wet and larger materials. Within the classifier, drier and finer particles are separated out from the larger and moister ones. Adjustable blades inside the classifier allow the degree of separation to be set, thus allowing the dryer’s performance to be individually optimized. Larger particles are recirculated through the dryer, normally passing through a disintegrator, which provides a size reduction feature. This additionally extends the residence time which subsequently allows for more efficient drying of the many products not suitable for flash dryers.
DRYTEC flash and rings dryers are offered in three system configurations: open circuit, partial closed circuit, and fully closed circuit designs. Open circuit designs offer a basic level of efficiency, with all exhaust gas discharging from the dryer system. Partial closed circuit designs increases drying efficiency by the partial recirculation of exhaust gases back into the dryer, thus minimizing heat release into the exhaust stream, and additionally assisting in maintaining a high percentage inerts atmosphere, ie. low levels of air. Fully closed circuit systems enable drying of exotic or toxic products and solvents, often under nitrogen or other inert gas atmospheres.
Auxiliary equipment offered with DRYTEC flash and ring dryer plants include back mixers, special feeders, wet scrubbers, solvent recovery systems and bag filters.
