Ishida’s ability to devise solutions for a huge variety of products and pack types will be demonstrated on the Hispack stand of Ishida’s Spanish distributor CIMA, where the company will show a selection of new and recently-launched equipment for fast, efficient and accurate weighing, filling, sealing and inspection.
Highlights include the launch of a new tray sealer alongside the latest developments in snack packing systems as well as multihead weigher and X-ray technologies.
The new state-of-the-art version of Ishida’s market-leading QX-775 tray sealer, the QX-775-Flex, combines a compact design with high speeds for modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) trays of up to 15 cycles per minute, along with maximum hygiene and high-quality pack and product presentation. The system is also compatible with a variety of packaging applications including standard MAP, skinpack and shrink film applications, making it ideal for all types of ready meals, meat, poultry, fish and salads. The tray sealer offers a high return on floor space through its compact design and high output capability, and can also be easily integrated to form part of a complete packing line.
Ishida’s market-leading iTPS™ snack packing system incorporates special software that supports the integrated operation of Ishida’s advanced Atlas high speed, high-efficiency snack food bagmaker with Ishida multihead weighers, throat metal detectors, printers, seal testers and checkweighers. The Atlas bagmaker features an innovative double rotary jaw motion and superior control technology to offer speeds of up to 250 bpm with accurate film registration and tight bag seals while minimising raw material waste, film loss and downtime for film changes.
Ishida will also be demonstrating its Astro bagmaker for snack foods. The bagmaker offers a compact design that is an easy fit upgrade for existing lines. It features multiple pre-set programs for quick product changeover, accurate film positioning for optimised presentation and seal quality, and operator-friendly touch-screen control.
The sensitivity and accuracy of Ishida’s X-ray technology means it is being used for an increasing number of quality control operations such as product grading by length, presence of clips, voids in product, product deformation, missing or damaged pieces, presence of bottle caps and fill-level control. Recent pioneering applications have included detecting the absence of a wooden ice cream stick and assessing the maturity of cheese. The IX-GA models incorporate unique self-learning genetic algorithm (GA) technology, which offers maximum detection sensitivity and reliability, with the most sophisticated models detecting impurities (such as metal, glass, bones, shells, stones, hard rubber and plastic) down to 0.3mm in size.
From its extensive multihead weigher range, Ishida will show its advanced CCW-RS-214-WP, which incorporates the latest Ishida technologies to provide fast and accurate weighing of a wide variety of fresh and frozen products.
Also demonstrated, the Ishida CCW-M-106 Fresh Food Weigher provides an effective solution for the handling and weighing of sticky products that are less easy to feed and control quickly and efficiently through a traditional circular multihead design, such as fresh meat and poultry and prepared fruit and vegetables. It features a linear multihead design, fed by belts from an infeed table, with an operator able to adjust the flow of product so that each pool hopper receives a roughly equal amount.
