The demand for larger fluid bed dryers has increased as processing companies need to fill the growing demands of a world economy. With increasing demand for larger equipment Witte found it necessary to redesign the vibrator drive for its larger equipment. Witte took this opportunity to improve the reliability and reduce maintenance on its new drive.
The new drive incorporates sealed bearings and gear belt synchronization, which replaces oil-filled vibrators that required the equipment be stopped to change the oil every 800 hours of operation. The new drive incorporates grease fittings, which allow the drive to be serviced without the need for shutting down the equipment. As a result, maintenance is more likely to be performed on a regular basis.
